About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Content Director to lead our digital content strategy and team at Sun Life Financial. As a key member of our marketing team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive content strategy that drives business growth and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Execute Content Strategy: Create and implement a content strategy that aligns with our business objectives and resonates with our target audience.
  • Lead Content Team: Manage and mentor a team of content creators, writers, and designers to produce high-quality content that meets our brand standards.
  • Content Creation: Develop and produce engaging content across multiple channels, including articles, videos, social media, and email newsletters.
  • SEO and Analytics: Ensure all content is optimized for search engines and track its performance using analytics tools.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, and sales, to ensure content aligns with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Content Calendar Management: Develop and manage a content calendar that ensures consistent and timely content publication.
  • Content Review and Editing: Review and edit content to ensure it meets our brand standards and is free of errors.
  • Staying Up-to-Date with Industry Trends: Stay current with the latest industry trends, best practices, and technologies to ensure our content remains relevant and effective.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in digital content creation, marketing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in leading and managing high-performing teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, communications, or a related field.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience with content management systems and social media management platforms.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency with SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Moz, and others.
  • Experience working with content creators and managing content budgets.
  • Knowledge of crisis communication management and experience with social media crisis management.
