Cyber Security Expert for Naval Training System Modernization

S.i. Systems is seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Engineer to provide expertise on the modernization of the Naval Training System (NTS). As a key member of our team, you will support the digital integration of cutting-edge software packages and hardware enhancements to improve the existing ecosystem for naval training.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Security Policy Development: Develop and analyze Federal, Provincial, or Territorial IT security policies, system IT security certification & accreditation processes, IT security products, safeguards, and best practices.
  • Threat Identification and Analysis: Identify threats to operating systems (MS, Unix, Linux, Novell) and wireless architectures, as well as personnel, technical, physical, and procedural threats to IT systems.
  • Report Development: Create reports on data security analysis, concepts of operation, statements of sensitivity, threat assessments, privacy impact assessments, non-technical vulnerability assessments, risk assessments, and IT security threat, vulnerability, and risk briefings.

Certification and Accreditation Activities: Conduct security certification and validation activities, including developing certification plans, verifying security safeguards meet applicable policies, validating security requirements, and conducting Security Testing and Evaluation (ST&E).

Accreditation Activities: Review certification results in design review documentation by the Accreditation Authority to ensure that the system operates within Government of Canada guidelines and complies with departmental and system security policies and standards.

Requirements:
  • 10+ Years Experience: In a Security Engineer role, developing security reports, reviewing, analyzing, and implementing IT security policies, system IT security certification & accreditation processes, IT security products, safeguards, and best practices.
  • Active Secret Clearance: A current GoC Secret Clearance is required for this position.
  • Relevant Education: A University and/or College Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice-to-Have: 6+ years of experience incorporating AI/ML methods to increase security measures, relevant certifications (CISSP, CISA, CISM, ISACA, ISO 27001), and experience reviewing certification results in design review documentation.

Salary Estimate: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
