Building Maintenance Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Technician to support our facilities in the Northwest Territories. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, performing routine and preventative maintenance, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with facility mechanical and electrical equipment and systems
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance to ensure facility uptime and asset integrity
  • Respond to service requests and perform corrective maintenance as needed
  • Monitor and inspect facility systems and equipment to identify potential issues
  • Operate facility mechanical and other systems
  • Manage work orders and record resolution data in our service management database
  • Assist in the implementation of preventative maintenance programs
  • Enhance tenant and customer satisfaction through excellent customer service
  • Participate in facility-related projects and ensure compliance with corporate and legislated policies

Requirements:

  • High school diploma plus trades training or experience
  • Experience providing preventive and corrective maintenance on building equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and other building systems and equipment
  • Knowledge and understanding of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and HVAC Systems
  • Strong client-service orientation and effective communication skills
  • Mentoring skills to support lower-level technician development
  • Ability to work shifts, be available for on-call/standby, and emergency call-outs
  • Strict adherence to Health and Safety policies and wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Power Engineer Certification or willingness to obtain
  • Building Operator Certification or equivalent through an accredited institution
