About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Investment Consultant to join our team at Aon Corporation. As a Senior Investment Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering investment consulting services to our institutional clients, providing expert advice and guidance to help them achieve their investment goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver investment consulting services to institutional clients, including pension and benefit plans, insurance funds, trust and endowment funds, and other special purpose funds.
  • Provide consulting support services and technical support on a range of advisory and OCIO Investment clients and accounts.
  • Anticipate client issues, needs or concerns and proactively develop solutions to meet those needs in partnership with the Account Executive/lead Consultants.
  • Review client accounts and relationships and recommend ways to improve the value Aon brings to the client, based on a deep understanding of the client's business and insight into industry and investment trends.
  • Contribute to the development of the go-to-market strategy for the Investment Consulting Practice.
  • Identify gaps between client needs and existing Aon Investment Consulting services, propose and develop service enhancements, adding to Aon's product/service portfolio and intellectual capital.
  • Provide guidance, mentoring and support to junior Investment Consulting colleagues as they serve their clients, ensuring high standards of service.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in a financial/investment consulting environment.
  • Thorough understanding of institutional investment and investment industry insight and processes.
  • Understanding of investment concepts and the financial markets.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian pension fund market.
  • Ability to support a book of business.
  • Manage an extensive portfolio of diverse Institutional clients, including interaction with C-suite level personnel and investment committees in these client groups.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical decision-making, and developing solutions for clients/business issues.
  • Entrepreneurial and creative spirit by recognizing and capitalizing on opportunities to help with the growth and expansion of the organization.
  • Able to work independently on various projects, able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced; high-pressure environment and meet project targets.
  • Technical expertise and the proven ability to remain current concerning investment industry trends, activity in the market, provincial and federal legislative policies and changes.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office suite of business applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Some travel is required to service clients.
  • A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Finance, Actuarial Science or Commerce or a related field, or equivalent years of experience.
  • Completion of an MBA or CFA is preferred.
