Key Responsibilities- Program Planning and Implementation: Work alongside our management team to plan and implement a comprehensive forest program that promotes learning and development in a natural environment.
- Child Safety and Well-being: Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in our care, including during outdoor activities such as forest play, hiking, and climbing.
- Program Preparation and Maintenance: Prepare and maintain learning areas and materials, and assume overall responsibility for program tools and equipment.
- Seasonal Activities and Projects: Plan, prepare, and co-create seasonal activities and projects that utilize natural materials and promote learning and development.
- Mentorship and Support: Provide mentorship and support to children, focusing on compassion, respect, and individualized learning.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
- Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree: Essential for this role.
- BC Early Childhood Certificate: Current and valid.
- Clean Criminal Record Check: Required.
- First Aid Certificate: Current and valid.
- Experience Working with Children: 1+ years of experience working with children aged 2.5-5 years old.
- Experience Supporting Children with Additional Needs: Experience supporting children with additional needs or neurodivergence.
Saplings Outdoor Program is a nature-based program located in West Vancouver, serving children aged 2.5-9 years old. Our program is designed to provide children with opportunities to connect with the environment in a safe and enjoyable way.
