Cardiac Surgery Assistant

The Interior Health Authority is seeking an Associate Physician to join the KGH Cardiac Surgery team. As a Surgical Assistant, you will work alongside the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include assisting with cardiac surgery procedures, preparing patients for surgery, and communicating with the Cardiac Surgery Nurse Practitioner and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with open heart and other cardiac surgery procedures
• Provide on-call services for the cardiac surgery program
• Participate in quality activities and performance reviews
• Perform other duties as required
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have strong communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be accountable for participating in all divisional and hospital quality activities, and will be required to perform other duties as needed.
