Full-Time Faculty Position
King's University College, a Catholic Liberal Arts College, invites applications for the position of Director of the School of Social Work. As a key member of the faculty, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the school's academic programs, research initiatives, and community engagement activities.
The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in social work, with a proven track record of leadership and administrative experience. They will be expected to foster a culture of excellence, equity, and inclusivity within the school, and to promote the values of social justice and human rights.
The successful candidate will be appointed at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, with tenure, for an administrative term of five years renewable. They will be responsible for overseeing the school's budget, personnel, and operations, and for ensuring that the school's programs and activities align with the college's mission and strategic goals.
The College offers a Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) program and two streams of a Master of Social Work program. The successful candidate will be expected to have a strong understanding of the social work profession, and to be able to develop and implement programs that meet the needs of students, faculty, and the broader community.
To be considered for this position, applicants must have a doctoral degree in social work, with a strong academic record and a proven track record of teaching, research, and service. They must also be a member, or eligible for membership, in the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and to be able to develop and implement programs that promote social justice and human rights.
