Job Summary

Matrix Labour Leasing Ltd is seeking experienced Insulation Specialists to join our team for a project in Fort McMurray, Alberta. As an Insulation Specialist, you will be responsible for applying fireproofing and fire-stopping materials to building systems, identifying areas where these materials are used, and interpreting mechanical drawings to describe processes and identify components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fireproofing and Fire-Stopping: Apply fireproofing and fire-stopping materials to building systems, identifying areas where these materials are used.
  • Spray Application: Recognize and identify various applications and materials used in spray applications.
  • Industrial System Inspection: Understand, identify, and describe components and materials used in industrial systems and commercial systems.
  • Pre-Insulated Panels: Identify terms and applications for pre-insulated panels.
  • Removable Soft Covers: Identify applications for removable soft covers.
  • Mechanical Drawing Interpretation: Interpret mechanical drawings to describe processes, identify divisions and components related to specifications and addendums.
  • Insulation Material Application: Identify, define, and apply information found on drawings for the application of insulating materials without supervision.
Requirements
  • Education: Trade ticket or proof of hours required.
  • Journeyperson: Must have a ticket or proof of 6000+ hours to be considered a Journeyperson.
  • 3rd Year: Must have a ticket or proof of hours.
Physical and Other Requirements
  • Lifting and Bending: Ability to lift and bend.
  • Work Environment: Ability to be exposed to various types of work environments.
  • Equipment and Tools: Use of various equipment and trade-related hand tools.
  • WHMIS Products: Working with WHMIS products and materials.
  • PPE: Use of specialized PPE such as respirators, coveralls, and safety glasses.
Required Certifications
  • CSO, CSTS 2020, Fall Protection (Energy Safety Canada), WHMIS 2015: Required certifications.
