About the Role

This position will report to the Director, Total Portfolio Management and is responsible for contributing to the implementation of UBC Investment Management's investment framework and providing critical analysis and research to support the ongoing management of our funds.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with institutional portfolios, a strong analytical mindset, and a keen interest in learning. They will be responsible for assisting with portfolio performance attribution analysis, conducting due diligence on investment fund managers, and contributing to portfolio construction development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting portfolio performance attribution analysis and providing insights to support investment decisions
  • Assisting with due diligence on investment fund managers and ongoing monitoring of their performance
  • Contributing to portfolio construction development and ensuring alignment with UBC Investment Management's investment framework
  • Monitoring financial market developments and providing insights to support investment decisions
  • Assisting with the preparation of regular and ad-hoc reporting requirements for UBC Investment Management's Board and client portfolios

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or a similar quantitative discipline
  • 2-5 years' experience working with institutional investment portfolios
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
