UBC Investment Management is seeking a highly skilled Investment Analyst to support its Total Portfolio Management and risk management functions. The successful candidate will contribute to the ongoing management of our funds, providing critical analysis and research to help implement our investment framework.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct analysis and contribute to managing our internal database and utilizing third-party software systems.
  • Assist with portfolio performance attribution analysis and due diligence on investment fund managers.
  • Support the Investment Manager Selection team with ongoing monitoring of investment fund managers.
  • Contribute to analysis on our Investment Programs and portfolio construction development.
  • Monitor financial market developments and contribute to reporting to our internal team.
  • Support strategic projects advancing our investment process and systems.
  • Assist with regular and ad-hoc reporting requirements for our Board and client portfolios.
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or a similar quantitative discipline.
  • ~2-5 years' of relevant experience working with institutional investment portfolios.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, capable of in-depth analysis and keen attention to detail.
  • The following would be considered an asset: experience with multiple investment asset classes, working knowledge of investment performance attribution, and experience with R, R Studio, Python, VBA, SQL, Bloomberg, Refinitiv, and other investment analytical tools.
