Job Title: Production Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Production Mechanic to join our team at MBEZ. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production equipment and machinery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble and repair mechanical equipment, including stationary industrial machinery
  • Coach and instruct apprentices in mechanical skills and techniques
  • Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions in equipment and machinery
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Repair or replace defective machinery parts
  • Supervise other workers and ensure compliance with safety protocols
  • Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up
  • Estimate costs and materials for repairs and maintenance
  • Perform routine maintenance work on machinery and equipment
  • Operate machining tools to fabricate parts
  • Program programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
  • Install and commission systems and components
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
Requirements:
  • Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Trade Certification
  • Construction Millwright Trade Certification
  • Occupational Health and Safety Certificate
  • Welder Trade Certification
  • Canadian Welding Bureau Certification
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a related field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Team player with a strong work ethic
