Job Title: Production Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Production Mechanic to join our team at MBEZ. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production equipment.

Job Summary:

The Production Mechanic will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining mechanical equipment, as well as troubleshooting and repairing complex machinery. You will work closely with our production team to ensure that all equipment is functioning properly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble and install mechanical equipment, including stationary industrial machinery
  • Perform routine maintenance work on machinery, including lubrication, cleaning, and inspection
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex machinery, including electrical and electronic controls
  • Coach and instruct apprentices in mechanical equipment assembly and maintenance
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Estimate costs and materials for maintenance and repair projects
  • Operate machining tools to fabricate parts and perform routine maintenance work
  • Program programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and commission systems and components
  • Install and operate hoisting and lifting equipment
Requirements:
  • Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Trade Certification
  • Construction Millwright Trade Certification
  • Occupational Health and Safety Certificate
  • Welder Trade Certification
  • Canadian Welding Bureau Certification
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
Work Environment:

The Production Mechanic will work in a fast-paced production environment, with regular exposure to heights, noise, odors, confined spaces, and dust. You will be required to work at heights, operate heavy machinery, and lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
