About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Dietitian to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our Primary Health Care team, you will be responsible for providing expert nutrition care to patients and families, promoting health and preventing illness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nutrition assessments and develop personalized care plans
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate care and ensure seamless transitions
  • Develop and implement health promotion programs to support chronic disease management
  • Conduct group education sessions and provide one-on-one counseling to patients and families
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in nutrition and dietetics
About You

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in dietetics and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care. You will have a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and an accredited dietetic internship, as well as current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Dietitians and Nutritionists. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from a recognized university
  • Accredited dietetic internship (1 year integrated or postgraduate program)
  • Current registration with Nova Scotia College of Dietitians and Nutritionists
  • Annual continuing education to maintain Nova Scotia license
  • One year of clinical experience required
  • Primary care experience preferred
  • Membership in Dietitians of Canada preferred
  • Current CPR/BLS certification required
  • Designation as a Certified Diabetes Educator preferred
