Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nursing Assistant II to join our team in Surgical Day Care at BC Women's Hospital + Health Centre. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and position equipment and accessories in the Procedure Rooms, ensuring that all necessary items are available for scheduled surgeries.
  • Clean and maintain instruments, reporting any missing items to the Nurse Clinician.
  • Conduct thorough cleaning and disinfection of floors, walls, doors, sinks, and furniture, including patient care equipment.
  • Restock Procedure Rooms with medical and surgical supplies, and clean and store specialized equipment.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 and successful completion of Sterile Supply Processing course, plus one year's recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Knowledge of surgical and medical terminology, mathematical aptitude, and ability to communicate and deal effectively with others.
  • Ability to operate related equipment and physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada, as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
