The Senior Accountant – Aggregates is a crucial role within Colas, responsible for assisting the General Manager Aggregates with financial reporting and overall management of financial transactions relating to the Aggregate Activity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management: Manage and supervise a team of accountants/clerks/admins to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Financial Transactions: Oversee financial transactions of all Aggregate Production and Sales.
  • Expertise: Act as a Subject Matter Expert for JWS and JDE related applications.
  • Coding and Allocation: Review and ensure proper coding and allocation of financial transactions.
  • Financial Planning: Assist in budget preparation, financial statement analysis, and reporting.
  • Royalty Agreements: Understand, monitor, and report on royalty agreements.
  • Inventory Reconciliation: Reconcile annual inventory counts for Aggregate sources.
Requirements
  • Certification: Possess a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or be working towards it.
  • Experience: Have at least 5 years of experience in accountancy, with 3+ years as a Senior Accountant or similar role.
  • Skillset: Demonstrate excellent organizational, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Work Style: Be able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Personal Qualities: Exhibit a strong work ethic, team-focused approach, and advanced communication skills.
  • Tech Proficiency: Show proficiency in Microsoft Office and JWS Apex, JDE, etc.
Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $95,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
