About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Instructor of Persons with Disabilities to join our team at ABA Autism Services INC. As an Instructor, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Assessment and Goal Setting

You will assess clients' cognitive, social, and emotional barriers to establish adaptation goals, and work collaboratively with clients to develop individualized education and intervention plans.

Instruction and Training

You will instruct students in reading and writing braille, lip-reading, finger spelling, and sign language, as well as provide training on the use of rehabilitative techniques, prosthetic devices, and wheelchairs.

Life Skills Development and Job Training

You will assist students to develop life skills, provide job training and support, and collaborate with specialists to develop programs for clients' special needs.

Supervision and Teamwork

You will supervise office and volunteer staff, and work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.

Requirements
  • Education

A college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.

Experience

At least 7 months of experience in a related field, with a strong focus on client-centered care and support.

Language

Fluency in English is required, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
