Executive Director Opportunity

The Burlington Performing Arts Centre is seeking a seasoned leader to serve as its Executive Director. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic organization that plays a pivotal role in the cultural, educational, and economic enrichment of the City of Burlington.

About the Role:

The Executive Director will be responsible for leading the Centre's operations, financial management, programming, and community engagement. This includes overseeing a team of staff and volunteers, managing budgets, and developing strategic partnerships with local organizations and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Centre's operations, including financial management, programming, and community engagement
  • Oversee a team of staff and volunteers, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve the Centre's goals and objectives
  • Build and maintain relationships with local organizations, stakeholders, and community groups
  • Manage budgets and financial resources to ensure the Centre's financial sustainability

About the Centre:

The Burlington Performing Arts Centre is a 63,000 sq. foot facility that opened in 2011. It is a LEED-certified, Ontario's first stand-alone green performing arts venue. The Centre hosts a variety of performances, including music, comedy, theatre, dance, and family programming.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in leading performing arts venues or similar organizations
  • University degree in arts and/or business management or equivalent experience in facility management and administration
  • Excellent financial and organizational skills, with demonstrated leadership in human resources management, community partnerships, board relations, and fund-raising
  • Good knowledge of programming, producing, and festival management
  • Political savvy and diplomacy, with excellent oral and written communication skills

What We Offer:
