At Fraserway Prekast Ltd., we are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our construction division, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates of labour and material costs for our construction projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating, with experience in preparing pre-qualification submissions, reading blueprints and specifications, and operating CADD and other computer software systems.

In this role, you will work closely with our engineers, architects, and contractors to analyze tenders, recommend awards, and set up cost monitoring and reporting systems. You will also be responsible for preparing and maintaining a directory of supplies and trade contractors, and liaising with clients to ensure that their needs are met.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. You will also need to have a strong understanding of construction estimating software and systems, as well as experience with MS Office and other computer applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects
  • Prepare pre-qualification submissions and read blueprints and specifications
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems

  • Prepare and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors
  • Liaise with clients and contractors to ensure that their needs are met

Requirements:

  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in construction estimating
  • Strong background in construction estimating and experience with MS Office and other computer applications
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
