The Opportunity

BBE is seeking a skilled Forklift Operator and Warehouse Coordinator to support our team at our Edmonton location. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for cargo handling, data processing, and ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Operating a forklift and other machinery used for transporting or shipping materials.
  • Unloading and loading trucks by forklift.
  • Providing proper maintenance and operation of equipment and keeping the work area clean and safe.
  • Providing consistent and detailed order picking, loading, and staging.
  • Preparing and staging orders according to schedule.
  • Identifying source materials from appropriate locations and utilizing appropriate equipment to process orders.
  • Labeling and sorting incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Relocating items within the warehouse.
  • Tracking inventory of incoming and outgoing items.
  • Verifying manifests that accompany freight to ensure discrepancies are addressed immediately.
  • Manifesting freight for shipping.
  • Communicating with vendors regarding various aspects of freight.
  • Dangerous good processing (packaging, handling, and documentation) when necessary.
  • Packaging and preparing freight for transport.
  • Organizing pick-ups, delivery, and billing in a timely manner.
  • Consolidating shipments.
  • Prioritizing shipments based on client-supplied requirements.
  • Timely and effective resolution of client or process issues as required.
  • Maintaining accurate record-keeping as required by various government agencies and company policies.
  • Following company Health & Safety standards and completing safety duties as required and instructed to do so.
  • Following all company policies and procedures as trained and communicated to do.
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of the workstation at all times.
  • Ensuring that all workplace issues, including barriers to high-level customer service, are brought to the attention of the Supervisor/Manager and assisting in the solution process.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Forklift and equipment operating experience.
  • Logistics and transportation experience is considered an asset.
  • Shipping, receiving, or warehousing experience is considered an asset.
  • Attention to detail and good communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • CIFFA, SCMP, or similar certification is considered an asset.
