Job Summary

The Business Clerk will provide clerical, administrative, and business support to patients, families, and healthcare teams at Hamilton Health Sciences. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, keyboarding skills, and proficiency in using computer systems. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to healthcare teams, including data entry, record-keeping, and correspondence

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, files, and databases

• Utilize computer systems, including EPIC, to manage patient information and perform administrative tasks

• Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of patient and staff safety

Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent

• Graduate of a community college secretarial or office administration program or equivalent

• Medical Terminology Certificate 1 and 2 or demonstrated knowledge equivalent

• Keyboarding 40 wpm

• Proficiency in using computer systems, including EPIC

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
