Job Summary:

As a Construction Estimator at VCM Construction Ltd., you will play a crucial role in our operations. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our projects. You will be responsible for estimating take-offs, which involves quantifying all the materials, labor, and equipment needed to complete a construction project based on the project plans and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine project scope of work and complete project estimates using designated estimating software.
  • Break down bid documents to delineate the full scope of work for VCM, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • 10+ years of construction-related experience, including field and estimating roles that will include commercial, municipal, and/or large projects such as educational institutions.
  • Technical degree/diploma/certificate in construction is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and estimating software is an asset.
  • Advanced knowledge of cost estimating, engineering, design, construction practices, and procurement.
  • Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil estimating disciplines.
  • Familiarity with current trade definitions, building codes, permitting, and inspections.
