About the JobWe are seeking an experienced professional to provide accurate estimates of labor and material costs, as well as general expenses and overheads for various building projects. Your role will involve analyzing tenders, recommending awards, and setting up cost monitoring and reporting systems. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing and maintaining directories of supplies and trade contractors, as well as liaising with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed estimates of labor and material costs for construction projects
- Analyze tenders and recommend awards based on financial and contractual requirements
- Develop and implement cost monitoring and reporting systems to ensure accurate tracking and analysis of project expenditures
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, including engineering and design teams, to ensure seamless integration of cost estimates into project plans
- Membership in the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors is highly desirable
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field, preferably in construction estimating or financial planning
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make sound recommendations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
We offer a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
