Job Description

This position requires a strong leader who can motivate and guide the culinary team to deliver high-quality products and services. The successful candidate will be accountable for overall success of the daily kitchen operations, including managing all food related functions, supervising staff, and maintaining sanitation and food standards.

Candidate Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED; 6 years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
  • OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 4 years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.

Key Responsibilities:

Leading Kitchen Operations

The Master Culinary Operations Director will lead the kitchen management team, providing direction for all day-to-day operations. This includes understanding employee positions well enough to perform duties in employees' absence or determine appropriate replacement to fill gaps.

The role also involves providing guidance and direction to subordinates, setting performance standards, and monitoring performance. Additionally, the candidate will utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others, advocating sound financial/business decision making, demonstrating honesty/integrity, and leading by example.

Serving Exceptional Customer Service

The Master Culinary Operations Director will be responsible for ensuring that property policies are administered fairly and consistently. This includes reviewing staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives are met.

The candidate will also establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with employees, ensuring they do the same within the team. Soliciting employee feedback, utilizing an 'open door' policy, and reviewing employee satisfaction results to identify and address employee problems or concerns are essential aspects of this role.

Additional Responsibilities

The Master Culinary Operations Director will provide information to executive teams, managers, and supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, email, or in person. Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems are key responsibilities of this position.
