About the Role

SickKids Foundation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced corporate and commercial lawyer to join our team as a Director, Legal. This is a permanent, full-time position available immediately.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide general legal advice and consultation to all levels of the Foundation, including drafting and negotiating agreements, supporting risk management initiatives, and ensuring privacy compliance.
  • Support the Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Risk Officer with risk management activities, policy development, and the maintenance of legal processes and templates.
  • Conduct legal research as needed and help ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and Foundation policies.
  • Assist with the development of policies and procedures for the Foundation and support the maintenance and continuous improvement of legal processes and templates.
Requirements
  • LL.B/J.D. Degree and minimum 7 years' experience in corporate/commercial law with a particular focus on drafting of agreements.
  • Licensed to practice in Ontario and in good standing.
  • Experience in Charity Law considered an asset.
  • Strong business acumen and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities while paying attention to detail.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate effectively and be a persuasive advocate.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, mission-driven attitude and approach.
