About the Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned Food Safety and Quality Assurance professional to join our team at Fitzii, a leading provider of plant-based organic food products. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage quality and sanitation functions, ensuring consumer protection, product satisfaction, and supply chain integrity.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and oversight to the quality and sanitation functions at our Richmond, California production facility. This includes developing and implementing effective quality systems to improve product conformance and food safety, as well as investigating non-conformances and customer complaints to determine root causes and provide corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Quality department colleagues to ensure an effective and strong audit function.
  • Develop and implement effective quality systems to improve product conformance and food safety.
  • Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints to determine root causes and provide corrective actions.
  • Provide support and guidance for the QA labs and production areas, including training in food safety (GMP, HACCP, allergens, and other topics).
  • Audit and implement systems to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in food or pharmaceutical manufacturing in a plant and lab environment.
  • 5+ years of management experience in a fast-paced food-manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in microbiology or food science; additional training and qualifications preferred.
  • HACCP certified and GMP trained.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a competitive compensation package and opportunities for professional growth and development.
