Job Title: Driver

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and trustworthy Driver to join our team at The Salvation Army. As a Driver, you will be responsible for picking up and delivering donations, as well as assisting with warehouse processing and goods distribution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive a vehicle to pick up and deliver donations, ensuring timely and safe transportation.
  • Assist with unloading, sorting, packing, and storing donations, maintaining the integrity of the donations.
  • Help select donations for store distribution, adhering to established standards of quality.
  • Meet assigned daily targets, counting, weighing, and recording incoming and outgoing donations.
  • Communicate with donors and recipients to confirm deliveries and pickups.
  • Comply with all safety procedures and maintain a tidy work environment.
  • Operate warehouse equipment, such as a power jack, as needed.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma.
  • A valid BC Class 5 Driver's License with a clean Driver's Abstract.

Experience and Skills:

  • Up to 12 months of prior related experience, including experience with warehouse processing or goods distribution.
  • Knowledge of lifting guidelines and experience in sorting food and goods.
  • Punctuality, reliability, and trustworthiness.
  • Ability to lift and move more than 40 pounds.

Additional Requirements:

  • Background check consent.
  • A clear vulnerable sector screening.
  • A clean drivers abstract.
