Job Summary:

The Salvation Army is seeking a reliable and trustworthy Warehouse Driver to assist with temporary driving duties, including picking up and delivering donations. This role requires a valid BC Class 5 Driver's License and a clean Driver's Abstract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive to pick up and deliver food and material donations, as needed
  • Assist with processing raw materials by unloading, sorting, packing, storing, and loading donations
  • Help select donations for store distribution, meeting established standards of quality and distinguishing between discarded and good quality merchandise
  • Meet assigned daily targets, counting, weighing, and recording incoming and outgoing donations
  • Communicate with donors and recipients to confirm deliveries and pickups
  • Comply with all safety procedures and tidy maintenance guidelines
  • Operate warehouse equipment, such as power jacks, as needed

Qualifications and Education:

  • High school diploma
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License and clean Driver's Abstract
  • Up to 12 months of prior related experience, including experience with warehouse processing or goods distribution

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Experience in sorting food and goods
  • Punctuality, reliability, and trustworthiness
  • Ability to lift and move more than 40 pounds
