Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented General Accounting Clerk to join our team at Niagara Health System. As a key member of our Accounts Receivable team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to cash handling, billing, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect payments and process mail payments
  • Address billing inquiries from customers at the cashier window
  • Process charges on patient and client accounts
  • Count and replenish floats
  • Process returned mail and other accounts receivable duties as required
Requirements
  • Graduate of a Secondary School Diploma
  • Recent experience in computerized Accounts Receivable/Billing functions in a health care setting
  • Strong financial background in a high-pressure, time-sensitive computerized environment
  • Recent cashier experience in a high-volume computerized setting
  • Experience handling and balancing cash floats
  • Knowledge of all aspects of health care billing
  • Superior customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent computer skills in all Microsoft applications
  • Meditech experience
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in both official languages (English and French)
