Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 CAD, depending on experience. This figure is based on industry standards and the location of Kapuskasing, ON.

Job Description

This role involves overseeing electrical instrumentation maintenance operations at our papermill. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring optimal resource management, maximizing production uptime, and promoting a safe working environment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Promoting a safe workplace through continuous improvement initiatives and supporting the Health & Safety Program.
  • Providing electrical/instrumentation trades services across various areas of the papermill, including the finishing room and stock preparation areas.
  • Scheduling, directing, and supervising E/I maintenance personnel to achieve operational efficiency.
  • Ensuring employees receive training to meet technological requirements related to Variable Speed Drives, Programmable Logic Controllers, and Distributed Control Systems.
  • Efficiently managing emergency breakdowns to minimize machine downtime.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A university degree in Electrical Engineering or a college equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical instrumentation maintenance, preferably with a Red Seal trades certificate.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to foster a participative management style within a unionized workforce.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written) and French would be considered an asset.
