About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Kitchen Helper at Northern Inn & Steak House. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our food service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitation
    • Ensure all dishes, utensils, and equipment are cleaned and sanitized to the highest standards.
    • Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware.
    • Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand.
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items.
    • Package take-out food.
    • Portion and wrap foods.
    • Serve customers at counters or buffet tables.
    • Take customers' orders.
  • General Kitchen Duties
    • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
    • Remove kitchen garbage and trash.
    • Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors.
    • Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit.
    Work Environment and Physical Demands
    • Work in a fast-paced environment with high levels of activity.
    • Stand for extended periods and handle heavy loads.
    • Perform repetitive tasks and work under pressure.
    • Attention to detail is essential in this role.
    Requirements
    • No degree, certificate, or diploma is required.
    • Will train on the job.
    • Ability to multitask and work as part of a team.
    • Positive attitude and reliability are essential.
    • Work Term: Permanent.
    • Work Language: English.
    • Hours: 40 hours per week.
