Job Title: Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic to join our team at Mercer Contracting. As a Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and inspecting equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, diagnosing faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment, and ordering parts and maintaining inventory.

Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with various locations, willing to relocate. The work site environment is outdoors, dusty, hot, and noisy.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment
  • Order parts and maintain inventory
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
  • Keep maintenance reports and documentation
  • Welding experience
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
  • Attach components and adjust new farm equipment
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
  • Perform repair work on heavy trucks
  • Service attachments and working tools
  • Verify and repair emission control systems

  • Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician Red Seal Endorsement
  • Diesel engine repair specialization
  • Powered equipment repair specialization
  • Mechanical maintenance and repair specialization
