Job Summary

Mercer Contracting is seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing heavy-duty equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
  • Order parts and maintain inventory
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
  • Keep maintenance reports and documentation
  • Perform repair work on heavy trucks
  • Service attachments and working tools
  • Verify and repair emission control systems
Requirements
  • Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician Red Seal Endorsement
  • 5 years or more of experience in heavy-duty equipment repair
  • Excellent oral communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding role that requires working outdoors in various weather conditions. You will be required to lift heavy equipment and work at heights.
