Job Summary

Mercer Contracting is seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and inspecting equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, diagnosing faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment, and adjusting equipment and repairing or replacing defective parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
  • Order parts and maintain inventory
  • Keep maintenance reports and documentation
  • Perform repair work on heavy trucks
  • Service attachments and working tools
  • Verify and repair emission control systems
Requirements
  • Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician Red Seal Endorsement
  • 5 years or more of experience in heavy-duty equipment repair
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
