Project Engineer Job Description

Venor is proud to partner with Grieg Seafood in their search for a skilled Project Engineer. As a global leader in salmon aquaculture, Grieg Seafood operates farms in Norway and Canada, with a dynamic team of over 750 professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough inspections of concrete and rebar installations to ensure quality and compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports, including documenting findings, recommendations, and any deviations from project plans.
  • Collaborate with the project team to address any issues or concerns related to construction quality and safety.
  • Assist the Project Manager and project engineering team in coordinating construction activities, scheduling inspections, and managing project documentation.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to contractors and construction crews to resolve engineering-related issues effectively.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Perform site visits and monitor construction progress to ensure that work is being carried out according to established timelines and quality standards.
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate regularly with the Project Manager and other stakeholders to provide updates on construction activities and address any concerns.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Engineering Technologist Diploma with relevant experience in concrete inspections and rebar installations.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of concrete and rebar inspection techniques, as well as relevant codes and standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.
