Job Summary

Venor is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team in partnership with Grieg Seafood. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of the construction phase, including concrete and rebar inspections, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Inspection and Quality Control: Conduct thorough inspections of concrete and rebar installations to ensure quality, adherence to specifications, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  2. Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed inspection reports, including documenting findings, recommendations, and any deviations from project plans.
  3. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with the project team (e.g., contractors, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies) to address any issues or concerns related to construction quality and safety.
  4. Project Coordination: Assist the Project Manager and project engineering team in coordinating construction activities, scheduling inspections, and managing project documentation.
  5. Design and Technical Support: Assist in coordinating design packages with engineering consultants and project engineering team, and provide technical support and guidance to contractors and construction crews to resolve engineering-related issues effectively.
  6. Site Monitoring and Progress Tracking: Perform site visits and monitor construction progress to ensure that work is being carried out according to established timelines and quality standards.
  7. Project Meetings and Updates: Participate in project meetings and communicate regularly with the Project Manager and other stakeholders to provide updates on construction activities and address any concerns.
  8. Material Selection and Engineering Specifications: Provide input on the selection of construction materials and equipment to ensure compatibility with project requirements and budget constraints, and support the development of engineering specifications, standards, and procedures for construction activities.
Requirements
  1. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Engineering Technologist Diploma with relevant experience in concrete inspections and rebar installations will be considered.
  2. Industry Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of concrete and rebar inspection techniques, as well as relevant codes and standards, and experience with mechanical/electrical work packages is considered an asset.
  3. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and a detail-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.
  4. Teamwork and Adaptability: Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
