We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Charles River Laboratories. As a key member of our Laval, QC location, you will play a crucial role in shaping the company's health and safety culture.

Job Overview

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive health and safety programs that meet or exceed industry standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance employee knowledge and skills in health and safety best practices.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor compliance with health and safety regulations and internal policies.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on health and safety matters, promoting a culture of accountability and responsibility.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in health and safety, preferably in a related industry.
  • Bachelor's degree or Certificate in Health and Safety or a related field (knowledge of industrial hygiene an asset).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.
  • Bilingual (English & French) language proficiency (written and spoken).
Compensation and Benefits
  • Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, based on experience.
