Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Bus and Coach Mechanic to join our team at New Flyer. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our diverse fleet of buses, from diesel engines to electric drivetrains.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diesel Engine Maintenance: Diagnose and repair diesel engines, performing minor and major overhauls to maintain optimal performance.
  • Drive Line Component Maintenance: Remove, repair, and replace crucial drive line components, including transmissions, drive shafts, and differentials.
  • Electrical Systems Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair electrical systems and components to ensure all systems function correctly and efficiently.
  • Braking System Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections and repairs of braking systems to maintain the safety and effectiveness of our fleet.
  • Electric Bus Maintenance: Work on electric buses, maintaining and inspecting high-voltage systems, battery packs, and electric drivetrains.
Requirements
  • Technical Expertise: Experience with diesel engines, driveline components, and electrical systems. Familiarity with electric vehicle maintenance is a plus.
  • Tool Proficiency: Proficiency with diagnostic devices, A/C recovery and charging equipment, and shop tools is highly valued.
  • Certification: Certified Truck & Coach Technician preferred or currently pursuing 310T certification.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and organizational skills.
