Environmental Services Supervisor

BC Place is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Services Supervisor to join our Event Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our facility, both interior and exterior.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in building operations, environmental services, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role. You will be responsible for coordinating the activities of our Environmental Services staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard, and that our facility is presented in an excellent condition for our clients and guests.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising and coordinating the activities of Environmental Services staff
  • Ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of the facility, both interior and exterior
  • Representing the facility and acting as a management representative to clients, show managers, and the general public
  • Monitoring and enforcing BC Place policies and procedures
  • Conducting site inspections prior to, during, and after events
  • Scheduling, coordinating, and providing guidance to Environmental Services staff
  • Directing, monitoring, coaching, mentoring, and supervising employees' performance and success
  • Collaborating with Event Managers to orient clients/exhibitors and conduct employee briefings as required
  • Attending management meetings as required
  • Completing daily reports and all necessary documentation
  • Dealing with all customer issues pertaining to Environmental Services
  • Assisting in staff recruitment, orientation, and job-specific training
  • Identifying and assessing the training needs of staff and maintaining up-to-date training records
  • Utilizing a scheduling application to document event-related work and scheduling items
