Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Sotera Health. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will play a pivotal role in the design, manufacturing, and installation of Industrial Irradiators.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the design and manufacturing processes for Industrial Irradiators
  • Providing technical guidance and oversight to designers, engineers, technologists, and suppliers
  • Maintaining project timelines and ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency
  • Engaging in international travel to customer sites for project installations and supervision

Qualifications:

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • A Mechanical Engineering degree with professional certification (PEng) or the ability to obtain certification
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of hands-on industrial experience encompassing mechanical expertise and a solid understanding of electrical, controls, and process engineering
  • Proficiency in Solidworks or equivalent software for design and modeling
  • Proven project management skills honed through practical experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Self-motivation and demonstrated leadership skills to inspire and guide teams towards success
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience managing large-scale projects exceeding $500k, showcasing adeptness in handling complex project logistics and challenges
  • Excellent decision-making abilities, capable of making informed choices under pressure to drive project outcomes
  • Effective communication skills, including strong presentation abilities, to convey ideas and project progress clearly and persuasively

Additional Requirements:

The successful candidate must:

  • Complete all mandatory training and certification as a Nuclear Energy Worker to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
  • Be able to travel internationally as needed for project installations and supervision
  • Undergo background verification, including FBI fingerprinting, to uphold security measures and ensure suitability for the position
