Aecon seeks an experienced Proposal Specialist to join its Industrial Engineering Team. As a key member of this team, you will play a vital role in providing engineering perspective to large-scale industrial proposals, contributing to strategies for proposal development, and participating in presentation when required.
Your Responsibilities- Provide engineering perspective to large-scale industrial proposals, help create high-quality content for proposals.
- Contribute to strategies for large-scale project proposal development.
- Participate in proposal presentations when needed.
- Closely work with the estimating team for design-built project proposals.
- Work with engineering vendors to establish scope requirements and deliverable lists.
- Review engineering vendors' proposals and conduct gap analysis.
- Identify risks, develop mitigating measures, and allocate costs strategically.
- Ensure designs meet technical specifications, applicable laws, codes, standards, etc.
- Deliver engineering according to Aecon’s contractual requirements and construction needs.
- Manage quality assurance from our engineering providers.
- Support various execution plans write-ups.
- Assist Project Managers with engineering budgets and schedules.
- Drive an inclusive culture, fostering equity, diverse perspectives, and career progression through belonging.
- You have 5+ years of experience in consulting engineering firms.
- You have 5+ years of experience in on-site construction environments.
- You collaborate effectively in multi-discipline and stakeholder environments.
- You hold an Engineering degree with P.Eng. designation or Business & Administration degree.
- You possess experience in multi-discipline engineering scope definition.
- You have a high-level understanding of other technical disciplines.
- You have experience across project lifecycle stages from scoping to commissioning.
- Design-build (DB), collaborative DB, and contractor early contractor involvement (ECI) project deliveries are desirable experiences.
- You have experience with large complex projects in Canada, strong asset if in the US as well.
- You understand design and construction phases and associated typical engineering deliverables.
- You can research and consolidate technical and commercial topics efficiently.
- You possess excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
- You offer exceptional customer service skills, a passion for problem ownership, and a customer-first attitude.
- You have proven experience in priority setting, multitasking, and working with minimal supervision.
- You can learn quickly and adapt to new situations with attention to detail.
- You are willing to travel when required.
- You champion diversity and inclusion.
