We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Animal Care Technician to join our team at Maple Leaf Foods. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of our pigs, while also contributing to the overall success of our operation.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with daily production activities, including feeding, cleaning, and maintaining the health and environment of our pigs.
- Work closely with the Team Lead to achieve production goals and ensure the smooth operation of the barn.
- Perform general maintenance, cleaning, and clerical duties, including maintaining inventory trackers and ordering feed and medication.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of our Maple Leaf Leadership Values and live them in your daily work.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written).
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities and complex tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to wear proper PPE and comply with safety requirements.
- Ability to lift 25kg.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to get to and from work located in a rural area.
- Weekend, holiday hours, and alarm attending are required on a rotational basis.
