Job Summary:
The Nurse Specialist at Southern Health-Santé Sud is responsible for applying the nursing process to support clients in achieving their optimal level of health. This involves working in a people-centered approach in various healthcare settings, including acute, transitional, and primary care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply the nursing process to support clients in achieving their optimal level of health
- Work in a people-centered approach in various healthcare settings
- Engage in ongoing education and maintain competency in accordance with Southern Health-Santé Sud policies and professional standards
- Exercise initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities and methods
Requirements:
- Current active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba/College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Knowledge of Professional Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics
- Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative interdisciplinary environment
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships
- Demonstrated conflict resolution skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to use an analytical and inquiring approach to problem-solving
- Ability to lead and make decisions autonomously
- Strong organizational skills and flexibility
- Able to effectively perform the tasks and responsibilities of the position
- Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population
- Proficiency in both official languages
- Ability to respect confidentiality
- Ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job
- Good work and attendance record
Conditions of Employment:
- Completes and maintains a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check
- Immunization as a condition of employment in accordance with Southern Health-Santé Sud policy
