About the RoleThis is a permanent position, working 35 hours per week. As a Retail Store Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising staff, assigning sales workers to duties, hiring and training employees, ordering merchandise, establishing work schedules, selling merchandise, preparing reports on sales volumes and personnel matters, resolving issues, organizing inventory, and managing cash.
The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, with experience in a retail environment. You will be required to work under pressure, handle heavy loads, and pay attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise staff (apprentices, stages hands, design team, etc.)
- Assign sales workers to duties
- Hire and train or arrange for training of staff
- Order merchandise
- Establish work schedules
- Sell merchandise
- Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters
- Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints and supply shortages
- Organize and maintain inventory
- Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers
- Manage cash
You will be working in a fast-paced retail environment, with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, and bending. You must be able to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Required Skills and QualificationsThe successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, customers, and management. You will also require a high level of accuracy, efficiency, and dependability.
