About the RoleThe Senior Associate, Contracts will play a critical role in influencing successful business outcomes, achieving key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income, and free cash flow for new and continuing programs. This individual will protect the company's interests by understanding and interpreting contractual terms and conditions, utilizing working knowledge of regulations, including the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), FAR supplements, and other agency regulations.
The ideal candidate will analyze significant and/or unique contract requirements, special provisions, terms, and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and corporate policies and procedures. Key responsibilities will include managing the contractual review of solicitations, proposal development, contract change control process, and overall contract administration.
This role requires a strong understanding of regulations for government procurements, financial and business risks related to terms and conditions, excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organization skills, and attention to detail. The successful candidate will be a team player with a high sense of urgency to respond to time-sensitive issues, a fast learner of new skills and information, and a continuous improvement mindset.
Required Capabilities- Understanding of regulations for government procurements (SAAC, FAR, DFARS, DEFCONS, etc.)
- Understanding of financial and business risks related to terms and conditions
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail, and drive to solve problems
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and effectively balance priorities to meet deadlines
- Team player attitude with a high sense of urgency to respond to time-sensitive issues
- Fast learner of new skills and information, open-minded and pragmatic, adaptable to change
- Possesses a continuous improvement mindset
- Experience in contracts or subcontracts management involving government contracts
- Requires practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience
- Understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning software (Infor or SAP preferred) or related computer skills preferred
- Working knowledge of SQL, databases, application troubleshooting beneficial
- Experience with TeamCentre for document management
- Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience or 2 years post-secondary/Associates Degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience
