Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and evaluate client needs, developing personalized care plans to meet their unique requirements.
  • Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, as well as light housekeeping and meal preparation.
  • Support clients with daily activities, such as walking, climbing stairs, and using the bathroom.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, adhering to confidentiality and data protection policies.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to identify and address client needs, ensuring optimal care and support.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • CCA Certification (Nova Scotia) or equivalent.
  • Standard First Aid Certificate or CPR level C Certificate (if applicable).
  • Experience working with elderly or vulnerable adults, preferably in a home support or caregiving role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Working Conditions:

This role requires a detail-oriented approach, with physical activity including lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, and other movements that emphasize good body mechanics. Individuals in this role must be able to walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs throughout the day, with some tasks requiring fine hand movements.
