About the Role:

WhiteWater is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our Engineering team at our Richmond head office. As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will work under the guidance of a Professional Engineer registered in BC to assist the multi-disciplinary Engineering department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the transition of existing designs from legacy systems into the PLM database for water slide parts, product assemblies, electrical/mechanical items, and structural elements.
  • Analyze differences in worldwide materials standards and perform relevant calculations to propose standard substitutions.
  • Mark up existing drawings to identify parts either already in PLM or needing to be set up in PLM and work with staff to set up such parts.
  • Work within existing protocols for creation and file storage of all parts, assemblies, and drawings.
  • Occasional maintenance and rework of existing parts, assemblies, and drawings to conform to current protocols.
  • Creation of CAD models, fabrication part drawings, assembly drawings, and Bills of Material (BOMs) for use by our manufacturers.

Requirements:

  • Participating in post-secondary design education (prefer Mechanical Technologist, Mechanical Engineer, or Mechatronics student).
  • Proficient with CAD software including SolidWorks; CSWA would be a definite asset.
  • Knowledge of drawings standards (ASME would be a definite asset).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
