Regional Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to lead our Richmond office's Mechanical Engineering team.
About the Role
In this position, you will be responsible for mentoring junior staff, providing senior technical guidance, and developing new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory body representatives.
- Develop schedules and assign work to employees as appropriate.
- Coordinating work and client contacts with other groups within the company.
- Maintaining relationships with various contractors and other vendors.
- Reviewing the work of employees and colleagues to ensure it meets established standards.
- Making suggestions to continually improve work quality, for both self and team.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 10 years of mechanical design experience working on medium to large scale, commercial and residential projects in the province of British Columbia.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer with The Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).
- Demonstrated experience developing business and client relationships in relevant industries within the BC market.
- Previous consulting experience is a must for this role.
- 5 plus years of proven experience in managing operations, including resource planning, budgeting, and process optimization.
- Strong client relationship management skills with a demonstrated ability to develop new and grow existing relationships.
- Strong verbal and interpersonal communication and technical writing skills.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor a diverse team.
- Proficiency in project management software, AutoCAD, IES, Trace software, and other relevant tools.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various client sites locally and to adjacent provinces.
