Network Architectural Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Network Architectural Specialist to join our team at The Weir Group. This is a permanent, full-time, hybrid position based in LaSalle QC, Halifax NS or Victoria BC.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and testing network configurations for current and future ships of the Royal Canadian Navy. This is a technical position that requires investigation, analysis, and hands-on work with systems in test environments to arrive at the architecture and detailed design for the systems.
Main Responsibilities:
- Interact with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and derive technical requirements;
- Produce network architectures, designs, and technical diagrams/documentation in accordance with established templates;
- Conduct technical investigations and evaluations, produce configurations and implementation procedures for deployment on client production networks, develop methodical test plans and conduct test events;
- Participate in internal and external review, coordination, and progress meetings, and conduct review of technical work from peers;
Requirements:
- Ten or more years of relevant IT technical experience;
- Demonstrated technical work experience and knowledge of technologies such as Cisco Platforms, Cloud Networking (AWS, Azure), Application optimization, visibility, and Quality of Service (QoS), Ansible, python, and Linux;
- Industry certifications are an asset;
What We Offer:
