We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Early Childhood Educator to lead our play-based learning programs for Junior and Senior Kindergarten students in the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board.

About the Opportunity

The successful candidate will collaborate with teachers to provide high-quality educational experiences, lead extended programs before and/or after-school for OCDSB students, and work closely with teaching staff to achieve program goals.

Requirements

  • A 2-year community college program in Early Childhood Education or equivalent
  • Registration and good standing with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators
  • Minimum 1 year of child care experience
  • Valid First Aid certification/CPR
  • Immunization Record with MMR and Tdap immunizations and personal declaration of having chicken pox in the past or the chicken pox vaccine
  • Police Records Check for the Vulnerable Sector Check done within the last 6 months

Skills and Abilities

  • Thorough understanding of early childhood development and knowledge of elementary school operations
  • Good communication skills to effectively communicate with parents, staff, and students
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision in a multicultural environment and respect a diverse range of children and families
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to individual needs of children in a multi-ethnic and multilingual environment
  • Demonstrates initiative and creativity
  • Adapts well to changing demands
  • Works collaboratively with teaching staff to achieve goals
