Life Enrichment Assistant Role Summary
Verve Senior Living is seeking a dynamic and creative individual to join our team as a Life Enrichment Assistant. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults by planning and organizing engaging programs that enhance their physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Life Enrichment Manager, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and evaluating activities that meet the needs of our residents.
- You will communicate activities and programs to residents, staff, families, and the community to encourage participation and ensure the needs of residents are met.
- Assist in the maintenance of department records, including attendance, assessments, and evaluations of planned programs.
- Assist in the direction and supervision of participants in the volunteer and student placement programs.
- Participate in the annual CanFitPro Exercise program to carry out proper exercise classes for seniors.
Requirements
- Minimum of grade 12 education required.
- Prior experience in recreation programming for a senior population is preferred.
- Diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in the field of Recreation, Physical Education, and/or Gerontology is considered an asset.
- Class 5 operator's license, clean driving record, and 2 years passenger driving experience is preferred.
- Certified in Emergency First Aid and CPR required.
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, in the English language.
